Carmel - culvert drain - hardstand crossover

The first 3 photos below show part of the verge prior to any of our work taking place. Our client requires a wide crossover on this semi-rural / industrial property to allow access for large trucks and machinery. The existing culvert trench has been excavated and prepared for the installation of new 300mm Ø culvert pipes and headwalls to match. Following the installation of the new culvert pipework the trench was filled and compacted. A 150mm thick layer of gravel/ferricrete

Byford - culvert drain - hardstand driveway

The first 3 photos show the old bridge above Beenyup Brook which runs through our clients property. The bridge is collapsing and is a danger to drive over hence steel plates have been placed over subsiding holes temporarily. The following 3 photos show the first truck load of concrete headwalls being delivered prior to the bridge and Brook being excavated to facilitate the installation of the new headwalls and 900mm Ø pipes. The collapsing bridge has been excavated and remove

Glen Forrest - driveway - crossover - parking area

The following six photos show existing hardstand areas prior to any works commencing. The following nine photos show the same areas as above cleared of grass, scraped clean and the beginning of gravel/ferricrete being brought in and spread. The following six photos show all the gravel/ferricrete installed, spread, graded, compacted and waterbound. This forms a solid hardstand surface ready for the application of a bitumen tackcoat and a layer of asphalt/hotmix. #gravel #ferr

South Perth - crossover temporary repair

Below are 2 photos of a badly damaged concrete crossover to a vacant block of land. The local council asked the owner to remove the broken sections of concrete as a safety precaution prior to the commencement of building works. Below is a photo of the damaged crossover with the concrete sections removed. We have installed roadbase to fill the excavations level and compacted and waterbound to form a hardstand surface. This will ensure that once building work starts and heavy

Greenmount - driveway - bitumen - black hotmix

Below are before and after photos of an existing hardstand driveway and parking bays under the carport which the owner asked us to seal with asphalt. The contaminated surface was removed with a Bobcat and top dressed with a 50mm thick layer of roadbase which was then compacted and waterbound to form a hardstand surface. The area was then tacked with a bitumen emulsion and sealed with a 25mm thick layer of 7mm/10mm granite black hotmix/asphalt. The edges were pulled in as kerb

Lower Chittering - temporary driveway - gravel

Below are before and after photos of a very worn existing gravel 1200m² hardstand driveway which is proving difficult to drive on. We spread approximately 150 tonnes of roadbase @ an average thickness of 50mm over the whole area. The loose hardstand surface was then sprayed with a water truck, compacted and waterbound. This levelled surface will now allow for much easier vehicle traffic for a year or so after which time the owner intends to have us prepare and seal the surfac

Parkerville - driveway - roadbase - hardstand - potholes

The first 3 pictures show the worn and potholed roadbase hardstand crossover and driveway in the hills suburb of Parkerville in need of attention. Below are 2 pictures of the finished driveway. Once the loose vegetation was removed from the surface we pre-filled the pothole with roadbase, graded, compacted and waterbound the area. After the surface had dried it was ready for immediate use as in this instance the owners did not want the area sealed with asphalt/hotmix/bitumen

Bullsbrook - driveway - regrade - red asphalt - bitumen

Photos of an existing rural gravel hardstand driveway which was re-graded with roadbase, compacted, waterbound and sealed with a bitumen tack and red gravelpave hotmix/asphalt with 1% oxide. The freshly completed driveway was scattered with sand to make ready for immediate use (the sand will blow away within a couple of days). #redasphalthotmix #gravel #roadbase #hardstand #driveway #rural

Kalamunda - driveway extension - asphalt - hotmix

This dual driveway property in Kalamunda had a gravel hardstand 7m² patch between the two sections of asphalt. The owners decided to have the area sealed. We sawcut the edges, removed any vegetation, relevelled, compacted and waterbound the gravel surface and then sealed the patch with a bitumen tack and a 25mm thick layer of 7mm granite black hotmix/asphalt. Eventually the patch will lighten up in colour and reduce the contrast. #driveway #asphalt #hotmix #bitumen #patch #

Darlington - repairs - hardstand driveway - crossover - patch

Below are before and after pictures of a potholed bitumen crossover and the asphalt/hotmix/bitumen potholed patch overlaying the damage to seal this worn crossover and give it an additional number of years of life. The pothole was first cleaned out, weeds removed, tacked with bitumen emulsion and then overlaid with a 40mm thickness of asphalt/hotmix/bitumen - ready for immediate use. Sand was sprinkled over the freshly laid surface (which blows away in a short amount of time)

Glen Forrest - driveway - roadbase - hardstand

Before pictures of an existing hardstand roadbase and gravel driveway in Glen Forrest which has badly eroded over many years, creating depressions and potholes. The owners decided against preparing and sealing the surface with asphalt/hotmix/bitumen due to cost restraints. After pictures of work carried out on the driveway by our crew. The sun has obviously risen by the time the work was completed and cast shadows over the hardstand driveway making it difficult to see the fin

Lower Chittering - gravel - ferricrete - hardstand - driveway

This existing gravel/ferricrete driveway and crossover was regraded, compacted and waterbound to produce a level hardstand surface which will last a number of years. This surface was graded and rolled approximately 7 years ago by our crew and has lasted well considering it's on a reasonably steep slope. #gravel #ferricrete #hardstand #driveway #crossover #lowerchittering #rural

Belmont - roadbase - hardstand - carpark - extension

Before - The first picture shows the low area (when we first arrived on site) between the commercial property carpark/yard and side fence which falls away approximately 100mm deep. The tenants had constant problems getting their forklift bogged as they were trying to store their pallets along the edge. We were contacted to install roadbase to form a hardstand surface falling back towards the existing asphalt which eventually will be sealed with asphalt/hotmix/bitumen. After

Maida Vale - hardstand - gravel - carpark

Another angle of this 5 year old plus gravel hardstand compacted carpark with daily vehicle use - still lasting well. At any time this carpark can be re-graded, re-rolled and sealed with a layer of asphalt/hotmix/bitumen. #gravel #hardstand #carpark

Gravel ferricrete hardstand parking area driveway - Greenmount Perth hills

Also in Greenmount, in the Perth hills, this house needed some additional parking areas along the front of the house. They chose not to seal the parking area, as they prefer the natural look of gravel / ferricrete surfaces common in the Perth hills area. After the gravel is spread and levelled, it is compacted and waterbound which is why the surface appears wet in the photo. Over the next few days, it will dry and form a very hard and usable surface. Gravel, roadbase or lime

Gravel ferricrete hardstand driveway - Parkerville Perth Hills

Ferricrete gravel (also known as simply gravel) is commonly used by us in the Perth hills areas to match the existing landscape and provides a great material for hardstand driveways, carparks, parking areas and garden paths / footpaths. Hardstand driveways can also be installed using roadbase (which is grey in colour) or limestone (which is a cream / white colour), however gravel is the more popular choice, especially in the Perth hills. Hardstand driveways are very long la

Gravel hardstand driveway - Parkerville - Perth hills

Gravel hardstand driveways are very popular in the Perth hills area, and this Parkerville property owner chose this material to redesign their driveway to allow smooth access to decking and gates (without any steps or steep areas). For this job we installed cement-stablised gravel (ferricrete) as requested by the property owner. The photo was taken immediately after installation so appears 'muddy' due to our workcrew waterbinding and compacting the material - once it dries
