Darlington - carbays - red asphalt

Below are photos of an area adjacent to a red gravelpave/laterite driveway we installed a number of years ago.

The area is currently sand and the owners have asked us to install carbays and a ramp.

The photos below show the same area where we have removed excess sand and supplied, installed, levelled, compacted and waterbound gravel/roadbase to form a hardstand area ready for asphalting.

The ramp is clearly visible in the first photo.

The photos below are of the finished product.

We sealed the gravel hardstand surface with a bitumen tack and a 25mm thick layer of 7mm laterite hotmix/asphalt with 1% oxide.

At the far side we installed a hump out of the same material at the edge of a garden bed instead of concrete kerbing to stop excess water flowing into the garden bed and washing it out. Water overflow was directed down the ramp.
