Once the crossover was swept clean the exposed roadbase potholes were prefilled and compacted. We laid tack and a compacted 25mm layer of 7mm granite black asphalt/hotmix/bitumen to resurface the badly worn double crossover.
These photos were taken prior to sand being scattered to prevent scuffing and allowing for immediate use by traffic.
As you can see join lines and texture marks can be seen but will fade very quickly as the surface oxidises and lightens up in colour to a pale grey.
